ODUN - Slovenian open access infrastructure

Name: ODUN - Slovenian open access infrastructure

Duration: 2012 - 2013

Funders: European Structural Funds and MIZŠ

Slovenian open access infrastructure (http://www.openscience.si/): The infrastructure consists of Slovenian universities’ repositories (repository of University of Ljubljana, digital library of University of Maribor, repository of University of Primorska and repository of University of Nova Gorica), a repository for research organisations, repository for faculties which are not part of universities and a national portal that aggregates content from the repositories and other Slovenian archives (Digitalna knjižnica Slovenije (dLib.si), VideoLectures.NET, digital library of Ministry of Defence (DKMORS), Social Science data archive (SDA), ScieVie repository and Journals of Scientific Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts). The national portal ‘openscience.si’ provides a common search engine, recommendations for similar publications, and plagiarism detection. It is also used for deduplication of publications, normalization of authors of publications, distribution of content and metadata to other repositories, if authors are from different institutions. Repositories are connected with their information and authentication systems, with the ARNES authentication and authorisation infrastructure (AAI), with the national bibliographic catalogue COBISS.SI, with the national current research information system SICRIS and the national portal. During the setting up of national open access infrastructure rules and processes for mandatory submissions of electronic theses, dissertations, research publications and research data were defined. Bilingual web and mobile applications are provided with the interface suitable for persons with disabilities. A Linked Open Data (LOD) OpenScience.si dataset is available in order to promote and facilitate the reuse of the metadata by other libraries and communities. It is comprised of metadata derived from the collections aggregated of the national portal.
